Tentative Activities Calendar

Day 1
Be at the Delta Air Lines check-in at the Charlotte Airport no later than 11:30 am! [Allow plenty of time for security.] Depart Charlotte for Atlanta. Depart Atlanta for Madrid.

Day 2
Arrive Madrid 9:35 am. Transfer by coach to Madrid hotel. After check-in, brief walkabout and Madrid orientation. Afternoon: visit to the Palacio Real.

Day 3
Madrid: 8:30 am, leave hotel for Prado Museum. Afternoon: Visit with U.S. Embassy. Late afternoon: Centro de Arte Sofia Reina.

Day 4
Madrid: 8:30 am, leave hotel for day trip to Toledo by train.

Day 5
Madrid: 8:45 am, leave hotel for day trip to El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen.

Day 6
Madrid: 9:30 am, leave hotel for train station to take the AVE to Seville. After check-in at hotel, Seville walkabout and orientation. Afternoon: Meet guide at the hotel for Historic Sevilla Walking Tour, including Barrio Santa Cruz and Cathedral

Day 7
Seville: 8:45 am, leave hotel for visit to Alcazar. Afternoon: Plaza de España and Basilica of the Macarena.

Day 8
Seville: 8:00 am, leave hotel for day trip by coach to Cordoba (Mesquita, Medina al-Zahra).

Day 9
Seville: 8:45 am, leave hotel for Plaza de Toros and Museum of Fine Arts. Evening: Flamenco performance.

Day 10
Seville: 8:30 am, leave hotel with luggage for coach transfer to Granada. After check-in at hotel, Granada walkabout and orientation.

Day 11
Granada: 10:00 am, leave hotel for visit to Albayzin area. Afternoon: visit to the Alhambra.

Day 12
Granada: 9:00 am, leave hotel for visit to Cathedral and Royal Chapel.

Day 13
Granada: 8:30 am, leave hotel with luggage for coach trip to Valencia. After check-in at hotel, Valencia walkabout and orientation.

Day 14
Valencia: 8:45 am, leave hotel for the City of Science and Art.

Day 15
Valencia: 8:30 am, leave hotel for tour of Old Quarter, markets, etc. Afternoon: Sagunto.

Day 16
Valencia: 7:30 am, leave hotel with luggage for train station. Depart on Renfe for Barcelona. Transfer to hotel on subway. After check-in at hotel, Barcelona walkabout and orientation: Las Ramblas, La Boquería (food market), Columbus Monument, etc.

Day 17
Barcelona: 8:45 am, leave hotel for visit to Barrio Gótico, Cathedral, Catalan Concert Hall [Reservation pending], Picasso Museum.

Day 18
Barcelona: 8:30 am, leave hotel for Isla de la Discordia, Casa Mila, Casa Batllo, La Sagrada Familia.

Day 19
Early Rising! 6:30 AM! Leave hotel with luggage for transfer to Barcelona airport. Depart Barcelona for Atlanta. Depart Atlanta for Charlotte.
