Program

Koalas, kangaroos, crocs, rain forests, red deserts, boomerangs, surfer beaches, sheep by the millions, vast canyons, Aboriginal culture, intriguing mystical rocks, friendly people and the only living structure on earth visible from the moon, the Great Barrier Reef—you can find all this in Australia.  This tour will focus on Australia’s most outstanding areas:  Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef; dynamic and varied Sydney, with its magnificent harbor; and the Red Centre—Alice Springs, Uluru (Ayers Rock) and the Olgas.  Many hands-on activities make this a unique adventure for students!  We will participate in an eco-tour of the tropical rain forest where we will see a variety of exotic birds and plant life—and perhaps even run into a goanna; snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef will allow us to appreciate the breath-taking diversity of aquatic life in the waters surrounding this natural wonder; and in the outback we will have the opportunity to hike around Uluru as well as visit a camel farm and view a traditional Cane Toad race!

There is a $890 program supplement for each participant in this study tour.  For participants who pay their own expenses, the cost – inclusive except for lunches, most dinners, some optional activities, and incidentals – is $3700.
